• Industry and Energy Committee at Asharqia Chamber elects Al-Sheikh as a president and Al-Qahtani as his deputy

    In first meeting at the current board session, The Industry and Energy Committee at Asharqia Chamber has chosen Ibrahim Al-Sheikh as its Chairman and Salah Al-Qahtani as a Vice President.

    The meeting was opened by the President of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi. It resulted as follows; Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh received 18 votes out of 24 votes, while his rival Abdullah al-Sane won 6 votes. On the other hand, in the vote on the post of vice-president, the board member Salah bin Abdul Hadi al-Qahtani received 17 votes, while his rival Dr. Fahd al-Khalidi won 7 votes out of the total number of votes that participated in the vote.

    The President of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said in his welcoming speech that the Committee in previous sessions has made valuable efforts; "we hope that it continues these achievements and successes that benefit the national economy." He pointed out that the Eastern Region is an important industrial area not only in the Kingdom, but also on a global level. Therefore, the responsibility to provide this sector with more proposals and ideas is very important.

    He stressed the keenness of the Board of Directors of the Chamber to increase the effectiveness in the committees sector, because the future carries with it the many things, wide ambitions and many challenges.​
